Vera Ella Kriewald Steubing, of Dunlay, Texas, passed away August 11, 2026 at the age of 94. She was born April 23, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas, to Erwin Alfred Willie Kriewald and Ida Reus Kriewald.

On October 7, 1949, Vera married Claude Dallas Steubing at the Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville. They were blessed with twenty-nine years of marriage and three children at the time of his passing on October 13, 1978.

Survivors include her children, Floyd Steubing of Hondo, Sidney Steubing (Chris) of Hondo, and Sandy Rainey (Glynn) of Bandera; grandchildren, Codie Rainey (Leslie), Nikki Long (K.W.), Rachel Cain (Justin), Ruth Garcia (Joe Frank), and Anthony Steubing (Tara); five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nephews, Ronnie Kriewald and David Kriewald.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claude Steubing; daughter-in-law, Laura Moss Steubing; and her brother, Marvin Kriewald (Billie).

The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
