Obituary

Valerie Ann Field Krueger, of Macdona, passed away December 16, 2024, at the age of 69. She was born December 18, 1954, in San Antonio, Texas to Leroy Francis Field and Mary Louise "Lu" Lagleder Field. She was on the dance team at Southwest High School and graduated in 1973. After graduation she went to work at Valley Hi Bank. She married Harry Krueger in 1974 and welcomed their son Thomas in 1979. Throughout his childhood she served as the leader of Cub Scout Pack 205, tee ball team mom, and Athletics and FFA booster.

When Thomas went away to Texas A&M, she and Harry spent many weekends on the road to College Station to see him march with the Corps of Cadets. Valerie adored her grandchildren. Whether it was season tickets to the Magik Theatre, Halloween dinners at the Magic Time Machine, costumed photo shoots, Thanksgiving Bingo, or Easter carnival games, she never missed an opportunity to bring fun and adventure to their lives. Harry and Val went on many of their own adventures, including several cruises, and countless road trips. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this summer on an Alaskan cruise, finally convincing Thomas, Julie, Sophie, Seth and Wes to tag along.

Val was a loving wife, mother, and Granny, not only to her three grandchildren, but to so many others that she treated as her own. She was a loyal friend and loved fiercely. She was genuine, kind, thoughtful, fun, and happy. She had a great sense of humor and brought joy to everyone whose lives she touched. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Harry Krueger; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Julie Krueger; grandchildren, Sophie Krueger, Seth Krueger, and Wes Krueger; siblings, Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Krueger (Raymond), Gregory Field (Linda), Leslie Field (Kate), and Patrick Field (Kathie); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Valerie was preceded in death by her parents.
