Thomas 'Tom' James Turns of Castroville, Texas, passed away April 12, 2026 at the age of 85. He was born June 28, 1940 in Dallas, Texas, to Thomas Tilton Turns and Pearlene Hutcherson Turns.

In 1958, Tom graduated from Forest High School in Dallas, Texas, then he went to work for his stepfather before enlisting in the Army in 1960. Some of his best life experiences were spent while he was in Germany. He had a small boat of his own and he cruised up and down the rivers in Germany and France, stopping to enjoy the foods and scenery.

Tom worked various jobs when released from the Army but finally settled on a company called Eco-Lab in Garland, Texas, where he worked for twenty-six years before retiring. Tom was an integral part of his family and will be missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Turns of Castroville; children, James William (Jana) of Kaufman, TX, Virginia Kay Conner of Combine, TX, Candice Ann Dennis of Garland, TX, Charles Edwin Turns of Kaufman, TX, Buck Edward Turns (Kellie) of Seagoville, TX, Justin Link of Dallas, TX, and Micah Link (Denise) of Lytle. Tom was also blessed with fourteen surviving grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, John Arthur Parker.

A Graveside Service with military honors will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery - Shelter 3 in San Antonio, Texas.
