Obituary

Staci Dawn Pawelek, of San Antonio, passed away on May 9, 2022, at the age of 51 years. She was born on June 23, 1970 in San Antonio. She graduated high school in Austin, Texas. Staci worked many years at the Texas Workshop Shelter.

Staci loved spending time with her family. It was very important for her to be part of the group. She was always asking about her family by name. She loved the teasing by her favorite Uncle "Bergil" and enjoyed playing board games with the family. She loved all music but was crazy about Classic Country but when Christmas came along all she wanted to hear was "Santa Claus was coming to Town". Staci always looked forward to wearing one of her favorite fur coats at the first sign of winter. She loved the pampering that her Aunt Debbie gave her when she fixed her hair and did her nails. She loved shopping at Walmart and was always on the ready to eat at her favorite seafood restaurant Pappadeaux or a cheeseburger at the local burger joint and of course, a large Dr. Pepper. Let's not forget her love of the cheese "enchawawas".

Staci's enchanting ways and sweet nature seems to draw people to her. She never met a stranger, and she had an uncanny sixth sense of always knowing what you were thinking. Staci was happiest when she was in the center of family activity and conversation. She loved living and she loved life.

Survived by her mother and stepfather, Linda and Prentiss Johnson; sister and brother-in-law, Dr. Alexandriah Alas and Carlos Alas; brother, Chris Johnson; sister, Sara Wilman; aunts, Debbie Jungman, Elaine Maclaughlin, and Joann Pawelek; uncles, Ken (Traci) Kowalik, and Marcus Pawelek; niece and nephew, Athena Alas and Christian Alas; as well as cousins, Jack lll, Hunter, Ami Marie, Miles, Nathan, and Garrett.

Staci was preceded in death by her father, Alvin M. Pawelek; her grandparents, Janet and Tito Negron, Kenneth F. Kowalik, and Margie and Gabriel Pawelek; uncles, Howard Kowalik, Virgil Jungman, and Brian Maclaughlin; and cousin, Ashli Renee Kowalik.
