Rodney Leonard Reus, beloved brother and uncle, went to his Heavenly Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 11, 2025 at the age of 80. Rodney was born in Castroville, Texas on August 28, 1944 to Rudolph and Lenora Reus.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph Reus, Lenora (Halty) Reus; grandparents, Henry John and Paulina Reus and Charles and Ida Halty; his brother, Malcom Reus and his niece, Cindy Reus.

Rodney is survived by his brothers, Ray "Butch" (Karen) Reus, San Antonio, Texas, Robert (Rita) Reus, Fort Worth, Texas, Sally Reus (sister-in-law), San Antonio, Texas along with many nieces and nephews, as well as grand nieces and nephews. Rodney was well loved by his family, and he cared deeply for them.

Rodney attended the Medina Valley School System and graduated from Medina Valley High School in 1962. He attended San Antonio College, as well as Durham Business College. He helped his parents with the farming and continued to live on the family farm until he was no longer able to care for himself.

Rodney worked at Handy Andy Supermarket for a number of years, as well as other various jobs. He finished out his work career at USAA as a Records Specialist and retired from there in 2002.

Rodney was known for his kindness and friendliness, as well as his willingness to help people. Since cooking was not one of his favorites, he was a long-time patron of Sammy's Restaurant. As a regular, many of the local people and waitstaff began to know him well.

Rodney was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville and enjoyed attending church until his health declined.

Visitation will be Friday, April 25, 2025 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Zion Lutheran Church in memory of Rodney.
