Roberta Duncan Lopez, of La Coste, Texas, passed away May 7, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born March 25, 1939, in Lytle, Texas, one of nine children born to Mamerto and Maria Saenz Duncan.

Roberta was a devoted and very active lifetime member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She taught catechism for over forty years, was both a Eucharistic and Liturgical Minister, served on the Bereavement Committee, member of the Guadalupano Society and St. Ann's Altar Society. In addition to being a wife and mother of six children, she also worked outside of the home. She was a cook at Sammy's Restaurant for ten years and was a teacher's aide at MVISD La Coste campus for seventeen years. She also was the favorite local seamstress.

Survivors include her children, Richard Lopez, Jr. (Nancy) of La Coste, Roberta Ann Ramos (William) of San Antonio, Jeanie Lopez of San Antonio, Steven Lopez (Emily) of Hillsborough, NC, Irma Linda Macias (Richard) of San Antonio, and David Lopez of La Coste; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Dolores C. De Baca (Art) of Waddell Arizona, George Duncan of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, "Mert" Duncan, Jr. (Mary) of La Coste, and Jesse Duncan (Alamar) of Huntington; sister-in-law, Irene Duncan of San Antonio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Lopez, Sr.; brothers, Carlos Duncan and Johnny S. Duncan; three infant sisters, Anna Marie, Margarita and Maria Margarita Duncan; and sister-in-law, Josie Duncan.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste, Texas.

Memorials may be made in Roberta's memory to any ministry of your choice at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church or to the Alzheimer's Association.
