Richard Dwain Beard, of Castroville passed away July 17, 2024 at the age of 76. He was born November 15, 1947 in Salem, Illinois to Austin E. Beard and Gladys Lucille Mulvaney Beard.

On July 7, 1983, Richard married Wanda Faye Thompson in White Deer, Texas. They were blessed with forty-one years of marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Beard of Castroville; daughters, Cassandra McDorman (Lanny) of Odessa, Suzie Ray (Wes) of Odessa, Cheryl Griffith of Castroville, and Karen Roberson of Odessa; grandchildren, Justin Burwell, Landri McDorman, Madyson McDorman, Nikki Armendarez, Jordan Carrasco, Blane Nash (Megan), Jason Nash, Aaliyah Griffith, Michael Griffith, Bryan Roberts (Bria), Brandon Roberts, Shanda Allen, and Kelsey Johnson; great-grandchildren, Aaleyah, Jayden, and Aidric Carrasco, Avery, Austin, Juston, and Nathan Nash, Jordan, Cody, and Cade Roberts, Korbin and Audrey Roberts, Katelynn, Shyanne, and Jacob Allen, and Mason, Braylea, and Kyle Johnson; and sister, Janet Beard Worley.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Gladys Beard; his daughter, Jamie Hogan; and his brother, Kenneth Beard.

Visitation will be Friday, July 26, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 5:30 p.m. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
