Ramiro C. Mata, Jr, of Castroville, passed away in San Antonio on May 20, 2021 at the age of 58. He was born October 15, 1962 in Castroville, Texas to Ramiro G. Mata and Aurelia Conde Mata.

Ramiro graduated from Medina Valley High School in 1981. After high school, he attended Southwest Texas Junior College and earned an Associates Degree. Ramiro worked as a Ranch Hand alongside his father at the Briggs Ranch. For several years, he also worked as a truck driver for Keller Grain.

Survivors include his daughter, Jordan Mata Gonzalez (Mario) of New Braunfels; sisters, Rosa Linda Mata of Castroville and Rebecca "Becky" Martinez (David) of San Antonio; five nieces and one nephew; numerous great-nieces and nephews as well as numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramiro G. and Aurelia Mata.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 starting 5:30 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church with The Mass of the Resurrection at 7:00 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. Services will conclude at the church.
