Patrick Floyd Mechler passed away peacefully on April 1, 2019 at his home. He was born on June 23, 1940, in Castroville, Texas to Clementine and Elmer Mechler. He is survived by his wife, Sharyn; son, Mark (Sonia) Mechler; daughters, Patricia Mechler (Dee Taubert), Natalie (Cole) Benke; grandchildren, Alex (Brittany) Rodriguez, Angelica, Brandon, Sabrina, and Dalton Mechler, Katie, Clemie, Hannah and Lily Huron, Trystan and Nicholas Benke, Nathan, Zachary and Piper Taubert, and four great grandchildren; sister, Katherine (Anton) Czaja; in-laws, Janice (Carl) Roberts, Stephen (Barbara) Mechler and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Pat was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gilbert Mechler and grandchildren Christi and Benjamin Mechler Huron.

Patrick graduated from La Coste High School in 1958. After graduation, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for six years. He was a lifelong farmer in the Sauz Community and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was a member of the St. Louis Men's Society for many years. Patrick loved spending time watching his children and grandchildren in all of their many activities and he always told them how much he loved them. He was a proud father and grandfather. He and Sharyn shared fifty-one + years of Marriage. They spent time together - he loved watching his doves and chickens. He was an avid hunter and rancher, and photographer. Patrick helped many local ranchers in his younger years, pulling calves, mending fences, and spending time learning from his elders. He was a member of the Highway 90 league and loved playing and watching Baseball. He coached Little League and spent countless hours at the fields. Patrick had many stories to tell, and many great memories to share. Grandpa Pat or Pop, as he is lovingly called, will be missed by many.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Tondre Guinn Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. with the Holy Rosary recited at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass of the Resurrection Celebrated on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste, Texas. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Castroville, Texas.
