Patricia Balderrama Mendez, of La Coste, passed away in San Antonio on May 26, 2021 at the age of 85. She was born March 17, 1936 in Natalia, Texas, one of ten children born to Augustin R. Balderrama and Micaela Fierros Balderrama.

When she was a young single lady, she was a short order cook at the Walgreen's Diner in downtown San Antonio. After she married, she was a busy wife and stay at home mom to seven children.

On May 2, 1964, Patricia married Jesus Estrada Mendez at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Somerset. They were blessed with almost thirty-one years of marriage when Jesus passed away on April 6, 1995.

Patricia was a faithful member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She served as Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Guadalupanos Society.

Survivors include her children, Gracie Trevino (William) of San Antonio, Jo Ann Flores of Redmond Washington, Jose D. Ruiz (Deborah) of Castroville, Jeannette Dischler (Darryl) of Littleton, Colorado, Diana Demski (Eric) of Castroville and Bobby Mendez of San Antonio; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred F. Balderrama, Guadalupe F. Balderrama, Augustine F. Balderrama, Jr. (Beatrice), Fidel F. Balderrama (Lydia); sisters, Virginia Bramlett, and Cordelia Jimenez (Raymond); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Augustin R. and Micaela Balderrama; husband, Jesus E. Mendez; son, Jessie Mendez; brothers, Raymond Balderrama, Manuel F. Balderrama; her sister, Rosa F. Balderrama; and her granddaughter, Melody Ann Flores.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste, followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste Texas.
