Nancy Bednarz Otto, 66 of Mico, passed away at her home on May 7, 2023. She was born May 8, 1956 in San Antonio, Texas, one of four children of Berthold J. Bednarz, Jr. and Martha Ann Krawczynski Bednarz.

Nancy graduated from Medina Valley High School in 1974. On February 21, 1976, she married Gregory Lee Otto at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes. They were blessed with forty-seven years of marriage and three sons and seven grandchildren, to whom she was known as "Nanny". Nancy worked at USAA as an insurance adjuster and a certified financial planner, retiring in 2012 after twenty-six years.

Survivors include her husband, Gregory Otto of Mico; sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Kathryn Otto of Mico, Kevin and Tiffany Otto of New Braunfels, and Jason and Kayla Otto of Gonzales; grandchildren, Kaylee Otto, Lorelei Otto, Trenton Otto, Logan Otto, Kolton Otto, Piper Otto, and Parker Otto; mother, Martha Bednarz of San Antonio; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Douglas Hilbig of San Antonio; and brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Janet Bednarz of Castroville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Berthold Bednarz, Jr. and her brother, Michael Bednarz.

Visitation will be Friday, May 12, 2023 from 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the Holy Rosary recited at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church, 6150 Roft Road, San Antonio, Texas 78253. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary at 11:30 a.m. Services will conclude with Interment to be held at 1:00 p.m. at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian, 11624 Culebra Road, San Antonio, Texas 78253.

Memorials may be made in Nancy's memory to the American Heart Association.
