Mary Ann Duron, of La Coste, passed away on February 5, 2022 at the age of 84. She was born October 12, 1937 in La Coste, Texas, the youngest of eight children born to Jesus Robles Duron and Luz Garcia Duron.

Mary Ann grew up in La Coste and graduated from La Coste High School. She worked alongside her father at the family business, the Duron Gulf Service Station and Convenience Store in La Coste. When her father retired, she kept the business running, and may have been the only woman in the area that owned and operated a gas station at the time. It was a full-service gas station, as gas stations were in those days, and Mary Ann could do it all, including repairs, changing oil and tires and probably anything else that needed to be done. She was a trail blazer and inspiration for young women, proving that all things are possible.  Throughout the years, various other family members also worked at the station with her. In 1993, in their 64 ^th year of business, the gas station closed, ending an era of great service and dedication to the community.

After Mary Ann and her sister Olivia were both retired, they really became inseparable. If you saw one of them, you were sure to see the other, whether it was attending Mass at Our Lady of Grace, grocery shopping or dining at Sammy's or other local restaurants. They are once again inseparable, having passed away two weeks apart.

Mary Ann is survived by her sister-in-law, Antonia Duron of La Coste; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Marcos Duron, Gilberto Duron, Sixto Duron and infant brother Jesse Jesus Duron, Jr.; sisters, Ofelia Duron, Aurora Becerra (Alberto), and Olivia Duron.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste.
