Mark Lowder Boyer of Castroville, passed away on August 12, 2022 at the age of 75. He was born August 3, 1947 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, one of two children born to Charles W. Boyer, Jr. and Lucille Marie Lowder Boyer.

In 1965, Mark graduated from Susquehanna High School. He played football at Texas A&I University in Kingsville for one year before joining the Army. While he was in the Army, he served during the Vietnam War and was an Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. He worked in finance for over thirty years.

He married the love of his life, Carole Anne Koterba, on February 14, 1969. After Carole's death in 2009, Mark moved from Carrollton, Texas to Castroville to be closer to his mother and his sister Susan and her family. He enjoyed boating, scuba diving, golfing, reading, traveling, and spending time with his dogs.

Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Dr. John Nixon of Castroville; nephew, Jeffery Nixon (Emily) of Watkinsville, Georgia; niece, Sarah Sherwood (Ian) of Greenville, South Carolina and great nieces, Tyla Sherwood and Parker Sherwood.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Carole Anne Boyer.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
