Maria J. Burvato Mascorro, of Castroville passed away August 9, 2024 at the age of 90. She was born March 6, 1934 in Castroville, Texas to Dionicio Burvato and Diamantina Martinez Burvato.

Survivors include her sons, Tomas Mascorro (Maria) of San Antonio, Marcos Mascorro of Castroville, Jose Mascorro of Fort Worth, Antonio "Tony" Mascorro, Jr. (Rachel) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; daughters, Margarita Lombana (Frank) of Chloride, Arizona, Isabel Schieber of Henderson, Nevada, and Teresa "Terri" Sanchez (Antonio, Jr.) of Pflugerville; daughter-in-law, Diana Mascorro; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Santos Burvato of Schertz; sisters, Sandalia Ruiz (Lupe) of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Frances Manahan of Poteet, and Ruth Foreman (Levi) of San Antonio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Antonio "Tony" Mascorro, Sr.; infant daughter, Adriana Mascorro; sons, Fernando Mascorro and Armando Mascorro; grandson, Juan Mascorro; son-in-law, Mike Schieber; daughter-in-law, Eileen Ybarra; brother, Robert Burvato; and brother-in-law, Gerald Manahan.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024 at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas. Those attending Maria's services are encouraged to wear her favorite color, purple.
