Margaret Barrera Ramos, of Castroville, Texas, passed away July 1, 2026 at the age of 80. She was born August 24, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas, to Donaciano Barrera and Eva Mireles Barrera.

In 1964, Margaret graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio. She attended San Antonio College and St. Phillips College to become an LVN. She then worked for University Hospital for fifteen years as a nurse. On October 11, 1969, Margaret married Cesar Humberto Salinas Ramos in San Antonio. They were blessed with fifty-six years of marriage and five children.

Survivors include her husband, Cesar Ramos of Castroville; children, Ursula Reichle, Cesar Ramos (Elena), Bianca Ramos, Yasmin Portela (Reynier), and Marisol Ransleben (Neil) all of Castroville; ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, July 13, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Funeral Service at 5:30 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. The funeral procession will depart from Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home at 12:15 p.m.
