Marcia Ann Johnson Brinkley, of Castroville, passed away on August 27, 2023 at the age of 70. She was born August 23, 1953 in Longview, Texas to the late Elbert Johnson, Jr. and Georgia Ann Lacy Johnson.

Marcia graduated from Spencer High School in Dallas, Texas in 1969. While in high school, Marcia met her future husband, Herbert Otto Brinkley. On September 11, 1971, Marcia married her high school sweetheart, Herbert, in Dallas, Texas. They were blessed with fifty-six years together. She received her Certification for Coding and Billing from MMTC in Gulfport, Mississippi. For fourteen years, she worked for Quest Diagnostics. Marcia was very dedicated to her family as a mother and grandmother. She raised most of her grandchildren as her own. Marcia was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and was no stranger to the casino.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert Brinkley of Castroville; daughter, LaShaon Thompson (Oneil) of Castroville; son, Frank Brinkley (Rhiannon) of Burleson; ten grandchildren, Latoya (Kevin), Kiara (Robert), Sharda (LeGerld), Dimeshia (Roc), Mikeal, Debrodrick, Kahlen, Britney, Jerry, Damarcus; twenty great-grandchildren, Azariah, Tyler, Carmi, Lamiya, Mercy, Keziah, Tristian, Cory, Hazel, Immanuel, Sir Kevin, Xena, Kaaliyah, Keveyon, Breanna, Nathaniel, Serenity, Sincere, Saivon, Demayra; niece that she raised as her child, Adrian Brinkley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alvis and Joe Turner of Duncanville and Reba and Al Cooper of Moore, Oklahoma.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Quinton Brinkley; and her niece that she raised as her child, Dometria Runnels.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
