LJ moved to his beloved Medina Lake Ranch (Haby Ranch) after high school and lived out the remainder of his life there doing what he loved most, fishing and ranching.

Although LJ did not have any children of his own, he loved his nieces and nephews along with their families.  He always looked forward to family get togethers down at the lake. He was happiest driving around the ranch in his Kawasaki "mule". In the summertime, he could always be found down by the lake visiting with all the campers and in the winter sitting next to the fire with his hunters.
