On September 16, 2020, Loretta Marie (Rihn) Moczygemba, loving mother of five and Grannie of six, passed away at her home near La Coste, at the age of 73.

Loretta was born on December 12, 1946 in Castroville, Texas to Edwin Joseph Rihn, Sr. and Alma Kathryn (Reicherzer) Rihn.  She attended St. Louis Catholic School until the eighth grade and graduated from Medina Valley High School, class of 1965.  On April 26, 1969, she married Zygfred Moczygemba at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville.  Zygfred and Loretta and were able to celebrate twenty-five years of marriage before he passed away on November 29, 1994.  Together they raised five children, four sons and a daughter.  Their children are Zygfred Allen Moczygemba of La Coste,Texas; Alma-Sue Haiduk, her husband Morgan and their son Anthony of Groom, Texas; Edwin Moczygemba, his wife Charlotte (Meyer) and their children Viktoria, Ethan, and Jasmine of Haughton, Louisiana; Robert Moczygemba, who passed away on September 9, 1998; and Matthew Moczygemba, his wife Abby (Heiman) and their children Lane and Henry of La Coste, Texas.

Loretta enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and hearing about their activities and accomplishments.  She always looked forward to spending time and talking to her classmates and friends.  Loretta cared for many people who were ill by driving them to the doctor and visiting them while in their critical stages of life.  She worked in many areas of service as a nurse's aide, cleaned many residences and businesses, served many lunches in the school cafeteria and managed Koenig Park for many years.  Loretta also made several anonymous donations throughout the years to various organizations.

Loretta was preceded in death by her husband Zygfred and son Robert; parents Edwin Sr. and Alma Rihn; brothers Ben Bristow and Edwin Rihn Jr.; and sisters Velma Bristow and Lucille Respondek.  She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.  The Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste, Texas. Loretta will be laid to rest with Zygfred and Robert in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.

Please note: the number of people allowed in church is limited for the Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection. Face coverings are required and social distancing shall be practiced.

Memorial donations may be made in Loretta's memory to Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, St. Louis Catholic Cemetery or to the charity of your choice.
