On September 14, 2020, Linda Marie Book Whitley passed away peacefully at her home in Castroville, at the age of 79. Linda was born October 19, 1940 in Denison, Texas to Wilfred and Kathryn Goode Book. She was the oldest of twelve children.

On October 20, 1957 she married E.W. (Buddy) Whitley in Durant, Oklahoma. They were married fifty-seven years at the time Buddy passed in 2015. They were blessed with four children, seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She worked as a Quality Control Inspector for Datapoint Corporation for more than twenty-five years. She loved to fish, crochet, sew and spend time with her family.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy; her parents, Wilfred and Kathryn; brothers, Freddie (Jo) Book, Jimmy Book, Terry Book, Frank Book, Marty Book; sisters, Bonnie Mae (Jim) Phifer Judy Reynolds, Nancy Sanford and Debbie Sue Book.

Linda is survived by her children, Wayne (Kathy) Whitley, Laurie (Eddie) Sheffield, Jeannie Whitley, Cheryl (Rick) Thompson; grandchildren, Reggie (Jennifer) Book, Randy (Jamie) Book, Erin (Roy) Hecox, Duane (Amber) Whitley, Jeremy Whitley Book, Misty (Cody) Scherer, Kristy Sheffield, Rickie (Jacob) Garrison;  great-grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholas and Benjamin Book, Kaden, Charlie, Audrey and Randy Book Jr., Corbin, Colton and Cam Hecox, Rylan and Gracyn Whitley, Nathaniel, Jeffrey, JJ and Jarid Book, Madyson Gregg and Allyson Scherer; brother, Jeff Book; sister; Mary Embry; sisters-in-law, Brenda Book and Doris Sharp as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Castroville Community Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
