Larry L. Hibbs, Sr., also known as "Herk", passed away peacefully in his home on November 29, 2021 in Castroville, Texas, at the age of 73. Larry was born December 18, 1947 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, to parents Henry L. Hibbs and Alma J. Hibbs.

On June 16, 1972, Larry married Diane Kay Dames in Papillion, Nebraska. They were married for forty-nine years, and together raised a daughter and a son.

Larry spent twenty years in the United States Air Force. He spent another twenty years in civil service before retiring in Castroville. He dearly loved and enjoyed his children and grandchildren, who all live next door to him. He was a generous and loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Hibbs; daughter, Dawn Vollmer (Chad); son, Larry L. Hibbs, Jr. (Brenda); seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren all of Castroville; brothers, Charles Hibbs of Yulee, Florida, and Lester Dee Hibbs of Waynesville, North Carolina; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry L. Hibbs, and Alma J. Hibbs; his granddaughter, Natalee Hibbs; and his brother, Keith Hibbs.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville. Services will conclude at the church.
