Lawrence ''Larry'' M. Cunningham, age 90, passed on March 22, 2023 at Blue Skies of Texas – West retirement community in San Antonio, Texas. Larry was born and grew up in Haverhill, MA on June 29, 1932 to John James and Gertrude Cunningham.

Larry met his wife of 66 years in 1954 while home on leave in MA. They were married in 1956 after Hilda graduated from nursing school, and they quickly began a family. They have four children: Michael Cunningham (Natalie), Colleen Morgan (Dave), Kelley Cunningham (Paul), and Kathleen Smith (Ned).

They have seven grandchildren: Shane Cunningham, Stephanie Bally (Tim), David Morgan (Laura), Michael Morgan (Sarah), Brian Morgan, Kayla Smith, and Alan Smith along with two great grandkids: Taylor Bally and Jackson Morgan. Larry's family was truly the joy of his life.

Larry served 29 years in the United States Navy. He enlisted at 17 years old and retired as a Supply Corp Officer in 1978. He had several long deployments on aircraft carriers including one during the Korean Conflict and two during the Vietnam War.

The Navy took Larry and his family overseas to Spain and the Azores and all over the USA where he and Hilda eventually retired in Texas. The discipline and patriotism he learned while serving never left him as friends and family will attest. The Navy was his second love after his family.

After retirement from the Navy Larry worked several years for the Port of Corpus Christi. In 2000 he and Hilda both retired to Marble Falls, TX where they made great friends and memories before moving to Blue Skies in 2006 where they continued to make wonderful friends and memories.

There will be private services for the family at a later date.
