Khampheuy "Pat" Thammavong, of San Antonio, passed away on January 4, 2020 at the age of 44 after an almost 5 year battle with brain cancer. He was born April 16, 1975 in Vientiane, Laos to Yawn Intatilad and Phimpha Thammavong.

Pat came to the United States in 1993 and settled in Montgomery, Alabama. Until his illness, he worked as a technician at Thermalex, an auto radiator supplier to automobile manufacturers. He worked there for eighteen years. In 2019, he came to San Antonio with his mother, to be closer to his family.

Pat was a kind and generous, caring person. He had sincere love for his family and friends.  Even during the worst of his illness, he was always more concerned with the welfare of others around him than of himself.

Survivors include his mother, Phimpha Thammavong Phengphanh of San Antonio; father, Yawn Intatilad of Laos; sisters, Khamphouy Helm of San Antonio, Khamphout Thammavong, Khampheut Thammavong and brother Bounyong Thammavong of Laos as well as a niece in San Antonio and 6 nephews and nieces in Laos.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. His family will return to Vientiane, Laos with his cremated remains for burial.

The family suggests to anyone wanting to send a memorial, to consider the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Talley Road Baptist Church, or to the charity of their choice.
