Juanita 'Nita' May Ivy, of San Antonio, Texas passed away February 9, 2025 at the age of 95. She was born October 13, 1929 in Carriere, Mississippi to Delmar Leon Simmons and Verna May Simmons.

In 1947, Nita graduated from Central High School in Jackson, Mississippi. After high school, she attended the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State College for Women. On September 5, 1953, she married Teddy McAfee Ivy in Jackson, Mississippi.

Survivors include her children, Janet Roberts (David) of Madison, Mississippi and Ted Ivy of Bella Vista, Arkansas; grandsons, Bradley Roberts (Amanda) of Woodstock, Georgia and Christopher Roberts (Emily) of Peachtree City, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Ivy Mae, David, Mason, Olivia, and Madison.

Nita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-nine years, Ted Ivy; daughter-in-law, Linda Ivy; brothers, Delmar "Billy" Simmons (Elizabeth) and Jerry Simmons (Patricia).

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.

Memorials contributions may be made to the High Flight Center or the Air Force Village Charitable Foundation at Blue Skies of Texas - West.
