Juan Moreno Alvizo, of Hondo, Texas passed away January 22, 2024 at the age of 74. He was born October 1, 1949 in Castroville, Texas to Angel Alvizo, Sr. and Margarita Moreno Alvizo.

On May 5, 1967, Juan married Mary Pruneda in Hondo, Texas. They were blessed with fifty-six years of marriage and five sons. For thirty years, Juan worked as a truck driver for Chapman grain.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Alvizo of Hondo; sons, John Alvizo (Sylvia Jimenez) of San Antonio, Jeffery Alvizo (Debbie Alvizo) of San Antonio, Jacob Alvizo (Rianna Alvizo) of Hondo, Jason Alvizo (Vanessa Pedraza-Alvizo) of San Antonio, and Nathan Alvizo (Crystal Alvizo) of San Antonio; sixteen grandchildren; brother, Jose 'Joe' Alvizo (Maria); and sister, Mary Resendez (Ricardo).

Juan was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Felipe Moreno, Angel Alvizo, Jr., Rosalio Alvizo, Torivio Alvizo, and Robert Alvizo.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. followed by a Eulogy. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024 at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.
