Jorge Alberto Uribe, of Lytle passed away November 10, 2024 at the age of 85. He was born May 27, 1939 in San Ygnacio, Texas to Derly Uribe and Laurentina Martinez Uribe.

Jorge graduated from Holding Institute in Laredo, Texas and attended Laredo Junior College. He served in the United States Navy. On March 15, 1964, Jorge married Irma Canales in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. They were blessed with sixty years of marriage. Jorge worked for the Tex-Mex Railway for thirty years, retiring in 1994. He was a rancher and farmer his whole life and started ranching and farming full time after retirement.

Survivors include his wife Irma Uribe; daughters, Letti Hudson (Peter), Laura Center (Oscar), and Roxi U. Vela-Cuellar (Carlos); grandchildren, Kevin Hudson, Laurentina Roberts (Jaelin), Kristin Center (Alex Wilkins), Georgia Hudson, Nina Vela-Cuellar, Maya Vela-Cuellar, Danica Vela-Cuellar, and Juliana Center; sister, Alma U. Perez; brother, Omar Uribe; in-laws, Carmen Uribe, Jorge Canales (Martha), and Yolanda Canales; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Jorge was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Maegan Center; brothers, Joel Uribe (Dene Lulu), Luis Angel Uribe, and Rene Uribe (Olga); in-laws, Jose Javier Perez, Maria Luisa Uribe, David Canales, Sergio Canalas, Pedro Humberto Canales (Maria Eva), and Elia Diez de Pinos (Carlos).

Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste, Texas.
