Johnny 'John' S. Duncan, of Castroville passed away January 24, 2025 at the age of 71. He was born December 28, 1953 in Castroville, Texas to Mamerto Duncan, Sr. and Maria Saenz Duncan.

John retired from working with the City of Castroville. He loved being with his friends, fishing, and bbq'ing. He also enjoyed playing his drums.

Survivors include his sons, Roland Duncan (Kelly) of Needville, Andrew Duncan (Stacey) of Houston, and Eric Duncan (Betty) of Wharton; daughter, Vanessa Rangel (David) of Natalia; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Roberta Lopez of La Coste and Dolores C. De Baca (Art) of Waddell, Arizona; brothers, George Duncan of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, "Mert" Duncan, Jr. (Mary) of La Coste, Jesse Duncan (Alamar) of Huntingdon; sister-in-law, Irene Duncan of San Antonio.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carlos Duncan; three infant sisters; and in-laws, Richard Lopez and Josie Duncan.

The Memorial Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 7, 2025 followed by the Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Inurnment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste, Texas.
