John C. Squires, Jr. of Hondo, passed away in Castroville on July 22, 2021 at the age of 86. He was born July 3, 1935 in South Bend, Indiana to John C. Squires, Sr. and Laura Mae Green Squires. He was preceded in death by his wife of many years, Susan C. Squires.

Survivors include his stepdaughter, Valorie (Dirk) Paugh; stepson, Kurt Gardner of San Antonio; his brother, James (Kathy) Squires of Hondo and their many children and grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his children, Kelly Mancini and John C. Squires III; his stepdaughter, Michele Weatherly; and his sister, Janet Squires.
