John Thomas, "Tommy" Noonan, of Castroville, passed away June 21, 2023 at age 78. He was born January 10, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas.

John grew up in Castroville, Texas before moving to Colorado to live with Lyle and Elizabeth Blasing. In 1964, John enlisted in the Navy and served 20 years. He retired as a Chief Boatswain's Mate in 1984. John stayed in Chesapeake, VA where he worked as a tugboat dispatcher on the Bay. In the mid 90's, John moved back to Castroville, TX where he lived his remaining days on the family ranch raising cattle, reading, and following his baseball team the Baltimore Orioles.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald 'Jeffery' and Kristy Noonan of Hauser, Idaho and David and Jessica Noonan of Katy; grandchildren, Samuel Noonan, Chloe Noonan, and Margaret Noonan.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude Noonan, and other close family George B. Noonan, Otelia 'Tillie' Bader Noonan, George H. Noonan, Mary Louise Noonan, Ruth Covell, Jerome Noonan, Buddas Noonan, Dorothy Highsmith, and Lyle Blasing.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, Shelter #3.
