Obituary

Joel Benites, of Castroville, passed away September 25, 2021 at the age of 55. He was born March 3, 1966 in San Antonio, Texas to Florentino and Petra Benites.

Joel will forever be remembered for his heart of gold, beautiful soul, and loving smile. Many know him as "Smiley". As a faithful servant of the Almighty God, his love for God was never unseen.

Since the early age of 14, he worked as an auto body technician. He was self-taught, successful, and continually furthering his education through I-CAR classes, passing his exams, and earning his certifications. He took great pride in himself and everything that he was able to provide for his family.

Joel was a man of the water. He loved to go to the lake, beach, and rivers. He loved to cook brisket and share his delicious BBQ with everyone. He loved the visits he would receive from hummingbirds, it made him very happy. He will always be a loving and doting father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him forever. There is not a day that will pass where his memory will not live on in the hearts that he has forever left his impression on and touched deeply. Fly high angel of God.
