Gloria May Benke, of Castroville, passed away on December 16, 2020 at the age of 72 years. She was born November 25, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas to John Ernest Benke and Selina Rosey Wilkie Benke.

Gloria graduated from Medina Valley HS in 1967. After high school, she became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She worked as an LVN at the Medina Regional Hospital in Hondo as well as the Ruben M. Torres Prison in Hondo.

Survivors include her children, Dude Benke (Valerie), Dale Fisher, Dalene Benke; grandchildren, Megan Miranda (Ryan), Melody Benke, Marissa Benke Greene (Bryan), Makayla Benke; great-grandchildren, Angel Martinez, Remington Miranda, Marley Miranda, Jameson Greene; siblings, Barbara Rose Gass (David), Martin Benke (Leslie Lunt), Nancy Schmid (Joe), Malvern Benke, Marilyn Benke, Louis Benke (Beth), David Benke, Shirlyrene Haby (Curtis), Russtin (Melissa) Benke; brother-in-law, James Wright.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, John and Selina Benke and her sister, Eugenia Wright.

Public Visitation will be Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home.
