Gloria Hinojosa Atchison, of Lytle/La Coste, Texas, passed away July 3, 2026 at her home at the age of 87.  She was born September 5, 1938 in La Coste, Texas, one of twelve children born to Urbano Cuellar Hinojosa and Hermilla Flores Hinojosa.

Gloria grew up in La Coste and moved to the Fairfax, Virgina/Washington, D.C. area after graduating from La Coste High School to work. She retired after thirty plus years as a senior computer operator in 2012 and moved back home to Texas. She purchased a home in between La Coste and Lytle and rejoined the church of her childhood, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste.

Survivors include her sister, Olga Lopez of La Coste; sister-in-law, Rosa P. Hinojosa; stepdaughter, Helena Atchison Clayton (Jerry); as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stephen Atchison; son, Steven Georgopoulos; brothers, Leandro Hinojosa (Pauline), Hector Hinojosa, Raul Hinojosa, Sr., Dagoberto Hinojosa (Rosa), and Urbano Hinojosa, Jr. (Mary); sisters, Maria Hernandez (Carlos), Alicia Padilla (Pete), Berta Mata (Jesus), Carmen Pena (Raymond), and Hermilla "Millie" Dowell; and brother-in-law, Henry Lopez.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste Texas.
