Glendon 'Blackie' Henry Boehme, of Rio Medina, Texas passed away December 28, 2023 at the age of 65. He was born May 8, 1958 in Hondo, Texas to Welton Robert Boehme and Jo Anna E. Saathoff Boehme.

He graduated from Medina Valley HS in 1976, then attended Texas State Technical Institute and graduated as a diesel mechanic. He married Linda Lagleder in 1980 and welcomed sons Mitchel in 1984 and Michael in 1990.

After working many years as a diesel mechanic and picking up son Mitchel from Sunshine Cottage School for the Deaf every day, he began working at the Alsatian golf course for many years. He treasured time with his family, especially riding in his cart with grandsons Jeremiah, Max, and Henry. He enjoyed spending time at his ranch feeding deer, working on fences, clearing brush and asking everyone he knew to help. He loved the outdoors and spending time and telling jokes with his many friends while golfing, playing cards, fishing, hunting, boat racing, and hanging out at world headquarters. He was a member of Trinity Racing Ministries and was a four-time high points champion in his class with the Southern Drag Boat Racing.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Boehme; sons, Mitchel Boehme (Jennifer) and Michael Boehme all of Rio Medina; grandsons, Jeremiah Boehme, Maximilian Boehme, and Henry Boehme; siblings, Gary Boehme (Kay) of Rio Medina, Garland Boehme (Pam) of Devine, and Glenda Jo Snider (Mickey) of Rio Medina; as well as numerous other relatives, cousins, and friends.

Blackie was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Gaylon Boehme.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
