Gilbert Joseph Lopez, of La Coste, passed away on June 15, 2023 at the age of 50. He was born August 23, 1972 in Castroville, Texas to Luciano 'Chano' Zepeda Lopez, Jr. and Marie Elaine Gonzales Lopez. Gilbert graduated from Medina Valley High School in 1990.

Survivors include his children, Kaitlyn Lopez and Eric Lopez; mother, Marie Elaine Lopez; sisters, Melinda Burell (Tony) and Cindy Botello (Rudy); nephews, David De La Fuente, Matthew De La Fuente, Christopher Botello and Royce Burell (Lindsay) uncle: uncle, Daniel Lopez; as well as numerous cousins and other relatives.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his father, Luciano Lopez.

The Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste Texas.
