Frederick "Fred" Herrington Kent, Jr., of Castroville, passed away on September 29, 2020 at the age of 83 years. He was born July 27, 1937 in Cullman, Alabama to Frederick Herrington Kent, Sr. and Audrey Wilhelmina McMinn Kent.

On June 2, 1962, Fred married Rose Marie Zerr at the Kelly Air Force Base Chapel. They were married for fifty-seven years at the time of her death.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Denea and Billy Chase of Castroville; grandchildren, Marshall (Stephen) Chase, Amanda Chase, Garrett Chase, Emily (Jeremy) Yarbrough and Steven (Jill) Chase; great-grandchildren, Titus Chase, Ivy Chase and Mason Yarbrough.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose Zerr Kent, and brother, Paul Kent.

A private family service will be held on a later date.
