Eva Douglas-Overley, of La Coste, Texas passed away August 22, 2026 at the age of 85. She was born July 20, 1941 in Comstock, Texas. She was adopted by Santana Hernandez and Anita Hernandez and grew up in Del Rio, Texas.

She lived at 101 Bridge St. across from the San Felipe Creek where she spent many an afternoon swimming with her friends. Eva was a good friend and champion of others. She graduated from San Felipe High School, Class of 1959. Her graduating class was small, but they remained close over the years.

She met and married Air Force Airman Calvin Douglas and was stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, MT. She and Mr. Douglas had 3 children, Yvette, Calvin and Mark. They serviced the military as a family and established final residence in San Antonio, TX in 1970. Eva continued to raise her family and worked in retail sales for the home improvement industry.

Her oldest child Yvette graduated from the University of Texas, Austin in 1983. Her youngest child, Mark also graduated with a bachelor's degree from UTSA. Calvin Douglas III served in the US Air Force.

After divorcing Calvin Douglas Sr., Eva continued working and spending her time with friends and family. She enjoyed celebrating with Mark and Monica Douglas and Calvin and Deborah Granato as they married and started families of their own.

Later in life she found love again with Mr. Paul Robert Overley Jr. an associate where she worked at Home Depot in San Antonio, Tx. She liked how he prepared his lunches. He asked her out to a movie and got to know each other better. They remained companions for 21 years and were married on Saturday June 25, 2022. They lived happily in La Coste, TX until her passing. In addition to her adopted family, Eva also has several siblings from her original birth family who are very close.

She also has a work family of friends and co-workers that she loves since working over the years at Builder's Square, Home Depot and Lowe's.

Survivors include her husband/companion of 25 years, Paul (Rob) Overley of La Coste; daughter, Yvette (Douglas) Hernandez, San Antonio, TX. son and daughter-in-law Mark and Monica Douglas of Helotes; son and daughter-in-law Travis and Valerie Overley; grandchildren Alexandra Garza, Harrison Douglas, (UTSA Graduate), Nicholas Douglas, (UTSA Graduate), Haley Guerrero, Brooks Ritchie, Daetyn Ritchie, Paul D. Overley and Eloise A. Overley. Siblings (sister/brother-in-law) Alicia and Alfonso Leal, (sister) Carmen Galindo, (sister) Gloria Barrows, (sister/brother-in-law) Ana and Benito Sanchez, (sister) Rosie Reyna, (sister) Rebekah Gonzalez, (brother/sister-in-law) Jesse and Elia Gonzalez.

Eva was preceded in death by parents, her son Calvin Douglas III and 2 granddaughters, Renee' Flores and Taylor Douglas.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service held at 11:00 a.m. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
