Ethen William
Duncan
Oct 3, 1998 — Feb 9, 2021
San Antonio
Ethen William Duncan, of San Antonio, passed away on February 9, 2021 at the age of 22. He was born October 3, 1998 in San Antonio, Texas.
Ethen was a 2017 graduate of Medina Valley High School.
Ethen's legacy will live on through the ones who loved him, sharing memories of fishing trips, endless nights, and the goofy things he did to make everyone smile. He was so creative and talented in building things from recycled wood. Some of our favorite memories that we have of Ethen is him knowing you're not wanting him to do something and doing it anyway. He would give you this smile that would prevent you from being upset at him, like taking a cup and knowing he'll never return it or borrowing something that probably won't be returned, but you just couldn't say no.
Getting to experience him playing high school football and being there for every game. Ethen showing us how to play darts and other fun games because he was always ready to entertain anyone that would listen. He was always a talker since the time he was able to talk, if his window was down in traffic, he would start talking to the car next to him. Remembering the time he put on a performance at his daycare when he was two, when everyone else was crying or sitting, there he was making sure the show went on.
Now his performance and humor and endless acts of kindness will forever go on in our hearts and memories of everyone who was blessed enough to witness his time he had with us. We all wish we had more time with him but knowing he is with all our loved ones that have already passed gives us the strength to move forward.
Survivors include his mother and father, Andrea Duncan and Carlos DeLeon of San Antonio; brothers, Gauge DeLeon and Luke DeLeon; grandparents, Jim Duncan, Roberta Duncan and Modesto Ortega, Jr.; aunts, Laura Ortega, Josie Ortega, Veronica Ortega; uncles, Modesto Ortega III and Newton Barta; great-aunt, Brenda Hanel; as well as numerous cousins.
