Ermila "Millie" Flores Hinojosa Dowell, of La Coste, passed away in San Antonio on March 1, 2021 at the age of 77. She was born April 6, 1943 in La Coste, Texas, to Urbano Cuellar Hinojosa and Hermila Flores Hinojosa.

Millie grew up in La Coste with her six sisters and five brothers and graduated from Medina Valley High School in 1962. While living in Sterling, Virginia she worked for NALC Health Benefits for Postal Workers as a claims analyst for thirty-eight years. After retirement, Millie moved back to La Coste, where she became very active in the community. Millie was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, The Guadalupanos at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Our Lady of Grace Bereavement Committee, as well as a communion minister and member of the La Coste Garden Club.

Survivors include her daughter, April Dowell of Shelby, North Carolina; the father of her daughter, Kenneth "Skip" Dowell of Shelby, North Carolina; brother, Urbano (Maria) Hinojosa, Jr. of La Coste; sisters, Bertha Mata Crystal City, Gloria Atchinson of Lytle, and Olga Lopez of La Coste.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Urbano and Hermila Hinojosa; brothers, Leandro Hinojosa, Hector Hinojosa, Raul Hinojosa, Sr. and Dagoberto "Beto" Hinojosa; sisters, Maria Hernandez, Alicia Padilla and Carmen Pena.

Public Visitation will be Monday, March 8, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made in Millie's memory to The Guadalupanos at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
