Obituary

Elizabeth Kay Hairell Love, of Austin, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2021 at the age of 63. She was born October 19, 1957 in Alice, Texas to Oscar C. Hairell, Sr. and Kathryn Ann Searle Hairell.

She married her high school sweetheart, Michael D. Love, on February 14, 2000. They enjoyed twenty-one years together filled with so much love, life, and laughter.

Elizabeth was loved throughout the Pearsall/Devine community supporting local friends and family. Up until her health decline, she worked for Marriott and Chick-Fil-A for several years, serving her passion for the hospitality industry. Elizabeth was very involved in The Order of the Eastern Star of Cuero with her siblings and parents. Prior to moving into the nursing home, she was also an active member of the First Baptist Church of Pearsall. She loved her church community and had a powerful devotion to her faith.

Elizabeth loved to visit with anyone and truly knew no stranger. She especially enjoyed visiting and spending time with her friends and family. She loved them immensely and was so proud of them. She cherished having her granddaughter, Weslynn J. Keil, nearby in Devine. Her evenings often included cooking, talking, telling stories, and watching movies. She loved having visitors in town and traveling to see others especially her good friends and family. Elizabeth's passion was people, she loved and cared for everyone selflessly, was highly empathetic, was giving in both her time and resources, and had many close relationships.

You could always find her in the bleachers with Michael, supporting the boys and then their grandchild at many of their different activities. She took great pride in her grandchild, grandniece and nephews for many things, but most importantly the people they became. Her family filled her life with so much joy.

Elizabeth loved all her precious memories, most of all the ones made with her husband, Michael. You could often find them drinking coffee on the porch, chatting, and watching the cows, deer, turkeys, and pigs. They found each other again later in life, and their love was special. They built a life that they loved together.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-one years, Michael Dee Love of Austin; sons, Addison Keil of Austin, Jason Keil of Devine, and Justin Love of Kyle; granddaughter, Weslynn Keil of Devine; sister, Annette (Anthony) Otremba of Spring Branch; and her brother, Oscar (Malinda) Hairell, Jr. of San Marcos; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar C. Sr. and Kathryn A. Hairell.
