Eilene Hendricks Wright passed away on 22 December 2022 in Castroville, Texas, at the age of 75--three days before her 76 th birthday. Eilene was born on 25 December 1946 in Los Angeles, California, to Francis Louise Burke. She was adopted by Glendyl Hendricks and Marion [Himes] Hendricks on 14 February 1947.
A California native, Eilene graduated from the Newbury Park Academy in 1964, marrying Richard Wright two years later. She fulfilled her life-long dream of becoming a teacher, completing her degree in Elementary Education at the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans, Louisiana. Eilene returned to school, studying School Counseling at Our Lady of the Lake University, and dedicated her final years in the public schools as a Counselor at Westwood Terrace Elementary.
Eilene was an amazing mother and grandmother who showered her grandchildren with unconditional love and unwavering support. Those who knew and loved her will miss her profoundly.
Eilene and Richard lived in their home in Rio Medina for more than 44 years. She belonged to the St. Louis Catholic Church, Texas Retired Teacher Association, and was an active member of the Ol' Shavano Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and numerous other organizations.
