Dorothy Louise
Walker Lemme
Nov 14, 1939 — Mar 5, 2025
San Antonio
Dorothy Louise Walker Lemme, of Blue Skies of Texas – West, passed away March 5, 2025. She was born November 14, 1939, in Theodore, Alabama to Walter Oliver Walker and Mary M. (Eldridge) Walker.
Survivors include her daughter, Shari Biediger (Charlie) of Castroville; son, Scott Lemme of Easthampton, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Mary Duncan (Carter), Erin Biediger, and William Biediger; great-grandchildren, Caroline Duncan and Annie Duncan; siblings, Ronnie Walker (Pearl), Lewis Walker (Betty), and Sarah Ann Duncan (Sonny); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other relatives.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Lemme, seven siblings, in-laws and other relatives, and beloved pets.
Dottie, as she was known to her family, grew up on a farm in a large family and started work after high school graduation at the Mobile Press-Register. She later began a long career in civil service with the Air Force, where she met her husband, David. Together, they moved several times with the military, during which time Dot raised her family and took up several hobbies, including ceramics and cake decorating. After retirement, she enjoyed thrifting, painting and rescuing and caring for a myriad number of dogs and cats that always found their way to her house. Dot took to wearing head-to-toe pink after becoming a breast cancer survivor in 1984. She never missed a day feeding the birds, and always reminded everyone to think positive and look up.
The family would like to thank the staff at Freedom House and Blue Skies Hospice for their loving care and kindness.
