Doris Virginia Stein Keller, of Rio Medina passed away February 23, 2024 at the age of 92. She was born February 17, 1932 in Rio Medina, Texas to Walter Joseph Stein and Tessie Alma Rihn Stein.

Doris graduated from St. Louis High School in 1950. On June 29, 1952, Doris married Glenn William "Booty" Keller, Sr. at St. Louis Catholic Church. They were blessed with fifty-four years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2006.

While Doris was in the 7th grade, her life-long career as a journalist began when a poem she wrote about her thirteen classmates was published in the Hondo Anvil Herald. She began to write a column about happenings in the local community, also known as "Keller's Korner" while she was still in high school. Her column was published in the Castroville News Bulletin for forty years and also in the Hondo Anvil Herald. While working for the News Bulletin, she also established the "Senior Citizen Spotlight".

Survivors include her sons, Glenn William Keller, Jr. (Debbie) and Terry Wayne Keller both of Rio Medina; granddaughter, Kris Lynne Fowler (Joe); great-grandson, Shawn Fowler; sisters-in-law, Ida Louis Stein of Castroville, Jeannean Stein of Rio Medina, and Sherry Keller of San Antonio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Booty Keller and brothers, Julius "Doc" Stein and Walter A. Stein.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
