Donald Christopher 'Chris' Melton, of Hondo, Texas, passed away December 28, 2025 at the age of 59. He was born August 19, 1966 in Barstow, California, to Donald L. Melton and Patsy Mallett Melton.

Chris married Margie Ruiz on June 16, 2001 in San Antonio, Texas. He loved to do mechanical work on cars and put things together. Chris also loved eating sweets.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Melton; children, Jennifer Ruiz, Donald Christopher Melton, Jr., Zackaria J. Melton, Juan Ruiz, Patty Ruiz, Lee Ruiz (Angel), Max Hernandez (Megan), Adam Hernandez, and Jacob Hernandez (Mercy); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; mother, Patsy Rivera; siblings, Ronald Melton (Marlo) and Priscilla Pacheco (Michael).

Chris was preceded in death by his father, and his stepfather, Blas Rivera.

Visitation will be Friday, January 9, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with a Service and Eulogy at 5:00 p.m. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
