Daniel Michael Buckheit, died on September 27, 2023, of brain cancer at the Atrium Rehabilitation Center in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 67.

He was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey to Shirley Treas then moved to Baltimore, Maryland at the age of 2. In 1974, he graduated Glen Burnie High School.

He worked for the Department of Defense for 30 years with tours in Maryland and Hawaii. When he retired, he moved to Castroville, Texas in 2014. Dan was a big fan of the Baltimore Orioles and he enjoyed golf and Ham Radio.

Daniel was preceded in death by this mother, Shirley Treas.

He was a devoted and loving husband and father and is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Ann Buckheit; daughters and son-in-law, Joanna Buckheit of Cottonwood, California; Catherine and Matthew O'Neal of Malolla, Oregon; granddaughter, Sadie Ann O'Neal; and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023 at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Castroville, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daniel's memory to St. Louis Catholic Church, 610 Madrid St, Castroville, Texas 78009.
