Dan Edward Sittre, of Rio Medina, passed away at his home on April 6, 2024 at the age of 58. He was born July 17, 1965 in Castroville, one of three children of Loretta "Cookie" Meyer Sittre and the late W.R. "Dub" Sittre.

Dan was a 1983 graduate of Medina Valley High School and a fifth generation Medina County Farmer. He married Theresa "Terri" Junek on June 26, 1987, at St. Louis Catholic Church. They were blessed with 36 years of marriage, two children and three grandchildren.  Dan was the 2020 Medina County Outstanding Conservation Farmer and had a love of hunting, catfishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He volunteered at the Quihi Bethlehem Sausage Supper as well as St Louis Day Celebration. He was a lifelong member of the St. Louis Catholic Church and a member of Quihi Gun Club.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa "Terri" Sittre of Rio Medina; children, Anthony (Gretchen) Sittre of Hondo and Christen (Cody) Harris of Castroville; three grandchildren, Clay Sittre, Caroline Sittre and Abigail Harris; mother, Loretta "Cookie" Sittre of Castroville; sister, Debbie (Bill) Racca-Sittre of Castroville; brother, Patrick (Leeann) Sittre of Devine; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, W. R. "Dub" Sittre.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas. A bereavement meal will be held at The Quihi Shop, 260 County Road 4518, Hondo, Texas.
