Obituary

Dale Stanley Redding beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend is now resting in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior. He was born in Cuero, Texas on December 6, 1950, and was called to his eternal home on April 19, 2025, at the age of 74.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sherry Anderson Redding, his daughter, Sharla Esquivel, and his grandchildren Taylor Wolters, Tyler Wolters, and Olivia Esquivel.

He is also survived by his siblings, Garry (Nancy) Redding, Brenda (Frank) Mann, and Nadine (Judson) Wolfe along with numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews and many close friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Willard Redding and Imogene Voss Redding.

Dale graduated from Edison High School in 1969 and earned his BS in Agriculture Science from Southwest Texas State University in 1974. He worked with various Oil Companies throughout his 35-year career. He spent the majority of his time with AMOCO Oil and retired from OXY.  Upon retiring, he moved to Castroville to assist the family in caring for their mother.

One of his greatest assets was his humor. Family gatherings will never be the same because he always made them a unique experience. He could turn a simple story into a print worthy article.

Dale loved riding his Harley Davidson listening to Willie Nelson as he traveled down the road. He loved the outdoors whether he was fishing, golfing, or planting a garden. He loved to cook. Baseball was his true passion. He could have given a sports caster a run for their money when it came to stats and knowledge about a host of players.

Dale was an all-around fun guy who never met a stranger and anyone who knew him became a friend. He will be missed beyond measure.

We knew some day you would fly away…Angel flying too close to the ground!
