Clyde Clark Coggin, Jr. of La Coste (formerly of Castroville), passed away March 17, 2025 at the age of 93. He was born December 21, 1931 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma to Clyde Clark Coggin, Sr. and Mildred Nora Kidd Coggin.

Clyde graduated from Cross Plains High School in 1950 and earned his BS in Political Science from the University of Texas at Austin. On December 23, 1955, Clyde married Maris Montgomery at the First United Methodist Church in Sinton, Texas. From 1965 to 1987, he worked as a safety investigator for the Federal Highway Administration. Clyde and Maris moved to Castroville in 1990 after his retirement. He became very involved in the community.

Survivors include his daughter, Adele Mozek of Castroville; son, Murry R. Coggin of Pearson; grandchildren, Ryan P. Mozek, Marissa Mozek, and Jordan Ariel Cardone-Coggin; brother, Ervis Coggin; and sister, Mary Ruth Coggin.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maris Coggin; grandson, Zachary Austin Coggin; son-in-law, Robert Mozek; and sister, Juanita Martin.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at the Medina Valley United Methodist Church in Castroville. Services will conclude at the church.
