Cleofas "Cleo" Gonzales Duron, of La Coste, passed away in San Antonio on February 14, 2021 at the age of 76 years. He was born May 22, 1944 in Castroville, Texas to Primitivo Medina Duron and Aurora Gonzales Duron.

Cleo graduated from Medina Valley High School in 1963. In 1964, he joined the United States Navy and served until 1966. Following his service in the Navy, Cleo enlisted in the United States Army Reserves and was called to active duty to serve during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Cleo retired in 1992 from the Army with twenty-one years of service.

On April 26, 1970, Cleo married Maria Graciela "Grace" Saldaña at St. Jude Catholic Church in San Antonio. They were blessed with fifty years of marriage, two children and two grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Duron of La Coste; daughter, Sonia Duron Quiroz (Juan) of La Coste; son, Clifford Duron of San Antonio; grandchildren, Ryan Quiroz and Sophia Quiroz; brothers, Frank Duron (Clara) of San Antonio and Juan Duron of La Coste.

Cleo was preceded in death by his parents, Primitivo and Aurora Duron.

Public Visitation will be Monday, February 22, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste, Texas.
