Obituary

Cathy Jean Cross, 61, of Mico, Texas passed away on April 16, 2020 in a tragic automobile accident. She was born in Alexandria, Virginia, on July 20, 1958, the daughter of Robert and Betty (McCord) Cross.

Cathy graduated in 1976 from Thomas Dale High School in Chester, Virginia. Her career choices reflected her enormous ability to care for and assist others. Her employment included managing a Toys R Us and working with San Antonio Parks and Recreation. Cathy's most rewarding career choice was her work with troubled youth. This included serving as a community liaison, a licensed interventionist, and as a houseparent for children who were unable to live in their own homes. Among the centers where she worked, were Parkside Lodge, Willowbrook Intervention Center, and the Hillcountry Youth Ranch. For the last fifteen years, Cathy worked at Home Depot and was greatly loved by those who worked with her. Cathy was a loving person with a big heart who was there for anyone who needed help. She loved her family and friends deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a devoted Elvis fan who traveled to many Elvis celebrations and collected Elvis memorabilia.

She is survived by her parents, Robert and Betty Cross, her sister Jennifer Rogers and her brother, Darryl Cross, and their spouses. She is also survived by three nieces, two great-nieces, and one great-nephew.

Cathy touched many lives and was deeply loved by her family, friends, co-workers, and the children whose lives she impacted positively. Her memory will live on always in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched.
