Barbara E. Vowell passed away in Castroville, Texas on April 22, 2025 at the age of 93. She was born on January 24, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph and Edna Beck.

Barbara and her husband Harry wed in March 1953 and were blessed with 70 years of marriage before Harry's passing in 2023. They had three children and one grandchild. As a career military spouse, Barbara was a caring parent, who with her husband, raised their children with a different address every few years as Harry's assignments dictated. Upon retirement, they enjoyed traveling, reading, playing Scrabble, and embraced the RV lifestyle where for many years they wintered in the Rio Grande Valley and were founding members of SKP-Hondo RV Park.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Harry E. Vowell, Sr.

Survivors include her son, Harry E. Vowell, Jr.; daughter, Veronica Vowell Burger; son-in-law, Michael Burger; son and devoted caregiver, Gregory Vowell; and her grandson, Joseph Vowell.

In lieu of services, her family will privately honor her memory as the loving mother and grandmother she was throughout her lifetime.
