Barbara "Barbie" Ellen Hoffmann Kennedy, of Rio Medina, passed away at her home on All Saints' Day, November 1, 2021 at the age of 62. She was born July 30, 1959 in San Antonio, Texas the youngest of four children of Johnny Joseph Hoffmann and Florence Mae Sachtleben Hoffmann.

In 1977, Barbie graduated from Medina Valley High School. She was an accountant, retiring from her last position at ISS Facilities Services on October 31, 2017. On May 5, 2005 she married Karl Kennedy. They were blessed with sixteen years of marriage.

Attending her children's and grandchildren's events were a priority in her life. Barbie was a talented quilter and a member of the Castroville Quilters and Stitchers. She could take a tattered scrap and turn it into something beautiful. She enjoyed living on her farm and ranch in Rio Medina with Karl and loved family gatherings. She adored all of nature, especially from her views of the entire Medina River Valley. Her happy place was with Karl at their river bottom. She welcomed all to the river to create lasting memories. Her smile and laugh were contagious to anyone around. For her it was easy to be kind, happy and generous. She anticipated the needs of everyone and was ready and willing with her thoughtful resolutions. Everything and everyone had value and she could make it shine like the sun.

Survivors include her husband, Karl Kennedy of Rio Medina; daughters, Veronica Berger (Michael) of La Coste, and Karla Wright (Scott) of Sugarland; stepsons, Tobie Kennedy (Kristal) of Castroville, Tyler Kennedy (Treasa) of Castroville, Karl Kennedy, Jr.; grandchildren, Payton Salzman, Vincent Berger, Aden McGee, Ainsley McGee, Jessica Wright, Kaitlyn Young (Jerry), Zachary Wright, Nicholas Wright, Mason Kennedy, Karson Kennedy, Matthew Mascorro, Jaron Ramirez, McKenzee Kennedy, Brooke Kennedy, Jaxton Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Karl Kennedy III; mother, Florence Hoffmann; siblings, Scarlett Ann Keller (Carroll) of Rio Medina, Elizabeth "Betsy" Martin (Paul) of Seguin, and John Hoffmann (Birdie) of Junction; in-laws, Frank Kennedy (Carolyn).

Barbie was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Hoffmann.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Services will conclude at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in Barbie's memory to a charity that helps support youth athletics.
